Here are a few general tips on caring for your jewelry, so you will have it for years to come.
First, keep your jewelry in something with compartments or dividers or even plastic zip lock baggies when you are not wearing it. If you throw all of your jewelry together in a jewelry box or drawer, you run the risk of damaging more fragile stones and pearls, not to mention scratching the precious metals holding your jewels.
Secondly, smart gardening is the key. Gardening gloves may actually catch the prongs of your ring settings, and a small gemstone or diamond can easily disappear in gardening debris. Leave your jewelry in a safe location in your home before beginning your yard work.
